The Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation is seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join our World-Class Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Group.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services efficiently. Working in collaboration, with our physicians and staff, the APP shares responsibility for the well-being of our patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting post ops and follow-ups for the surgeon in clinic 2 days a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays).
- Serve as a first (1st) assist in the operating room 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday & Fridays).
- Gathering comprehensive medical data, including health history, and analyzing physical examination results.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such blood tests, imaging, and assessing deviations from normal.
- Developing and implementing patient management plans, documenting consult notes, progress notes, and contributing to continuity of care.
- Educating and advising patients on adhering to prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Assisting in triaging in-basket messages, including patient referrals, and communicating with pre- and post-procedure patients about their care.
- Performing other assigned duties.
**General office hours 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility as needed
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Masterās degree in Physician Assistant studies accredited by ARC-PA.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
- Drug enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience:
Preferably prior experience as a Physician Assistant in relevant clinical areas such as general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties.
