Job Description:
Siena College is accepting applications for adjunct instructors to teach our English education methods course. We are seeking an instructor to teach a Summer 2024 graduate course, EDUC 512 Curriculum and Methods of Teaching English. Course descriptions and meeting times are listed below:
EDUC 511: Curriculum and Methods of Teaching English. The primary objective of this class is to prepare you to teach English at the 7th - 12th grade levels. This field includes, but is not limited to, New York State and national frameworks for language arts, instructional techniques and strategies, designing and locating instructional materials, planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons and units. The class emphasizes methodology, curriculum planning, unit and lesson planning, and classroom management. It is assumed that students will be able to apply English subject matter knowledge to their new learning in the field of pedagogy.
EDUC 511 is set to meet from July 9 to August 16, 2024 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Classes are in person.

Salary $1,287.50 per contact hour
The hiring salary above represent the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Education or related field and exhibit a commitment to undergraduate and graduate liberal arts education. Demonstrated knowledge of New York State and national teaching standards required. Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred.
A background screening will be required.
