Job Summary
The tutor is responsible to provide individual and small group tutoring services to students attending Essex County College.
Supervisory Role
None
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Work with students to complete assignments, prepare for tests and improve academic skills.
2. Develop a full working knowledge of academic skills development materials and strategies.
3. Incorporate study skills and time management techniques into lesson plans.
4. Host workshops on selected topics
5. Perform front desk activities, including scheduling, record-keeping, and online tutoring- coordination, when directed.
6. Contact assigned students within two days of receiving the assignment (For Online Tutoring Services only).
7. Be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions.
8. Prepare routine, special, and ancillary reports as required.
9. Perform other related duties as required.

Additional Requirements
1. Successful completion of Accounting 200 – 202.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
1. High academic achievement, especially in subject area(s) applicant wishes to tutor.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
3. Familiar or proficient with social media such Facebook, Twitter, Goggle hang out, etc.
4. You must be currently enrolled or a former student of Essex County College.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma
Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.)
