"Content Creator/Marketing Generalist"

Cairn University’s Department of Communications and Marketing is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Content Creator/Marketing Generalist.

Department Purpose

Cairn’s Communications and Marketing Department works to elevate the profile of the University as a whole, as well as to facilitate internal communication.  

Position Summary

The Content Creator/Marketing Generalist role develops original and creative content that connects with our target audience and leads to increased interest and interaction with the university. This position includes a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to produce various types of content including social media and video content. 

In addition to content creation, this position includes a variety of responsibilities requiring strong time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines and measured outputs. The ability to build strong working relationships across various departments will be essential to the success of this position. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities* 

Content Creation

• Develop and maintain the social media content calendar
• Captures and posts social media content on scheduled Cairn events that drive audience engagement
• Creates original creative content that engages, inspires, and informs the target audience
• Work closely with graphic designer and videographer to ensure visually appealing content
• Reports on social media metrics 

Website Maintenance

• Maintains a list of URLs with dates when website pages will need to be updated
• Updates Cairn website with needed updates based on schedule (i.e. tuition rates, dates, etc.)
• Updates Cairn website with requested minor changes
• Updated Cairn website with current episodes of Defragmenting podcasts and Cairn chapels
• Review website changes for optimal display on mobile & widescreen monitors and adjust as needed
• Assists with updating Cairn’s website with the academic program changes
• Optimize website for SEO and compliance requirements
• Reports on website metrics 

Other

• Creates Formstack forms
• Creates and maintains Marketing’s library of images
• Maintains and updates Digital Board content
• Provides photography and videography assistance as needed
• Enters projects with multiple marketing partners into project tracking tool if needed 

Skills and Abilities

• Creativity and idea generator who is a self-starter and carries ideas through to execution
• Multi-tasking and tracking individual projects to completion
• Produce a high volume of work while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
• Ability to find efficiencies in work production while keeping within budget 

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
