University of Houston-Clear Lake, a public university in Houston, Texas invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management. This is an on-site position, and the anticipated start date is January 2025.

Nestled on a 524-acre wildlife and nature preserve in Bay Area Houston, the University of Houston - Clear Lake (UHCL) has become a cornerstone of higher education along the upper Gulf Coast of Texas. As part of the University of Houston System, it offers graduate and undergraduate programs online or face-to-face at locations in Clear Lake, Pearland, and UHCL at Texas Medical Center. UHCL enrolls over 8,200 students through its 70 undergraduate, 45 master’s, and three doctoral degree programs.

Reporting to President Richard Walker, the vice president for strategic enrollment management (VPSEM) will design, implement, and monitor enrollment targets, recruitment objectives, strategies, and tactics to advance and enhance the university’s strategic enrollment management and marketing plans. The VPSEM is responsible for the leadership, management, and supervision of approximately 80 staff members in the offices of admissions, student financial aid, registrar, international admissions and student services, student administration systems, enrollment communications, and the welcome center.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree and progressive senior leadership experience in recruitment, admissions, strategic enrollment management, data analytics, retention, and marketing at an institution of higher education are required.
• The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who have a record of achievement in leading collaborative enrollment strategies for first-time-in-college (FTIC), transfer, graduate, and international students; demonstrated success in developing and mentoring a high-functioning enrollment management team; and advanced skills in using CRM and other communications technologies to engage with traditional and post-traditional student populations effectively.
