Job Summary
The Research Technician position will have two sets of responsibilities. 50% of time will be dedicated to performing single cell perturbation profiling experiments on human immune cells using 10x genomics and spatial genomics methods in support of the human interactome project. 50% of the time will be dedicated to construction and analysis of 'minimal cells' using human cell extract, purified protein, and single-cell genomics methods. We will use droplets to fabricate synthetic cell like systems that contain motor and filament protein components extracted from human neurons that are, then, expressed in cell-free lipid droplets. Droplets will be characterized using single-cell genomics including 10x genomics and spatial genomics methods.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform single cell genomics assays.
- Perform spatial genomics assays.
- Cell culture.
- Protein expression and purification.
- In vitro transcription translation.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree or higher with a biology major.
- A minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
- Strong background in experimental biology methods including molecular biology methods, cloning, PCR, cell culture, cell-based assays, protein assays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biomaterials, synthetic biology and cell engineering.
- Post-undergraduate research experience in a university research lab is highly desirable.

Hiring Range
$18.00 - $24.00 Per Hour
