Job Summary
This role reports to the career achievement, leadership, and exploration director and will work with incoming and current undergraduate students, and recent grads to provide career coaching support as needed, offer a virtual first year career program for incoming first year students, and put on other workshops as agreed upon with the director.
Essential Job Duties
- Build upon the lesson plans, course materials, and resources for the first-year career non-curricular virtual course.
- Deliver the non-curricular virtual course to incoming first year students during the summer term.
- Offer virtual career coaching appointments as needed and as agreed upon with the director.
- Offer workshops and other career related educational programs as agreed upon with the director.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of career coaching and education experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
- Deep understanding of the STEM student experience.
- Experience with a LMS such as Canvas.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical and communication competencies.
- A demonstrated ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with students majoring in STEM and alumni who graduated from a STEM institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- STEM degree.
- Familiarity with the Caltech Community.
- Previous experience teaching at Caltech.

Hiring Range
$24.00 - $34.75 per hour
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
