The Digital Services Division drives digital innovation at Deakin to deliver intelligent, future-focused solutions that anticipate and respond to digital needs. We collaborate with managers and members of the University Executive, as well as teachers and students, researchers, support and professional staff, and other members of the University community to harness our digital potential.

About the role:

As the Director, Digital Solutions, you will be reporting directly to the Chief Information and Digital Officer where you will play a pivotal role in leading, developing, designing and planning digital solutions, products and channels for both student and people audiences that provide a positive user experience and engagement. Your leadership, characterised by a passion for technology, a drive to shape culture, and strong relationship management, will be integral to the success of Digital Services.

As the Director, Digital Solutions, you will:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members in delivering strategic initiatives, ensuring their growth and development.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with Deakin’s goals and future needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure activities align with strategic priorities.
• Oversee the planning, delivery and analysis of digital solutions. Lead the team in developing strategies that drive positive outcomes for the University.
• Investigate major issues and in collaboration with university colleagues, stimulate the development of strategies to resolve problems affecting operations and operate within the constraints of University objectives and professional standards.

What you will bring:

• Qualifications and experience commensurate with appointment at level. Experience in the Higher Education sector is not essential for this role.
• Extensive experience conceptualising, developing and implementing contemporary solutions, strategies and services to achieve a large organisation’s objectives.
• Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong and productive relationships with internal and external partners and customers.
• Proven ability to exercise judgement, influence others, be flexible and adaptive to environmental changes and priorities, and gain support for new plans, programs or initiatives.
