Part-Time Education Practicum and Pre-Practicum Supervisors

The Education Program at Lasell University is seeking Education professionals with experience/knowledge of k-12 teacher development to serve as part-time practicum and pre-practicum supervisors. Current or retired k-12 teachers with knowledge of DESE licensure requirements and best practices in exceptional teaching as well as higher education/college teachers are encouraged to apply.

Our program offers licensure programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education/Social Studies, Secondary Education/English, and Moderate Disabilities. We have a commitment to infusing diversity, social justice, and inclusion in the curriculum.

Role Overview: As a Practicum or Pre-Practicum Supervisor at Lasell University, you will play a critical role in guiding teacher candidates through their practicum experiences as they complete student teaching in local area schools. You will work closely with students, supervising practitioners, and university faculty to ensure a successful development of teaching and professional skills, knowledge, and dispositions. Your responsibilities will include observing student teaching, providing feedback, and supporting candidates in meeting professional standards. While some of the job responsibilities can be conducted remotely, you will need to available for in-person classroom observations during the semester.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Students, Supervising Practitioners, and Lasell Faculty
2. Observe, provide feedback, and support skill development of Lasell Students 
3. Maintain knowledge of DESE and Lasell requirements, processes, and tools for student teaching 
4. Complete all evaluations and documentation related to student teaching in a timely manner

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).
• Experience in teacher education, supervision, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of Massachusetts educator licensure requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to student success.
