Are you a designer or production artist with a knack for visual storytelling? WSU Vancouver is hiring an in-house graphic designer to join their small-but-mighty marketing team. We're seeking someone with expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite who has excellent project management, prepress, customer service and photography skills. Work on a fun, collaborative team with a focus on integrated marketing.


Summary of Duties


The Graphic Designer in the Office of Marketing and Communication will conceptualize, develop, design, and implement original graphic designs and layouts for print and digital media to elevate the WSU brand and promote WSU Vancouver to attract prospective students and support internal clients.


This position leads the delivery of original visual content and design that is fresh, effective and aligns with WSU Vancouver’s strategic plan and WSU brand standards. Position reports to the Campus Director of Marketing and Communication at WSU Vancouver.


Required Qualifications


A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multi-media, printing technology, or related field AND a minimum of three (3) years full-time experience in concept development and design of high-quality promotional materials. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.


Demonstrated photography and photo editing skills.


Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software in a PC or Mac environment including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.


Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


Preferred Qualifications


Strong customer-service orientation.

Experience working in a higher education environment or similarly complex organization.

Work Location and Schedule: 


Hybrid - This position may have the opportunity for hybrid work one day a week after six months onsite and after all the required training is completed.


Monthly Salary: 


Minimum: $4,383 ($52,596/year); Midpoint: $5,481 ($65,772/year); Maximum: $6,579 ($78,948/year), Grade 4 Zone 3. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to the mid-point of the salary range.
