About the Position
A Clinical Coordinator Nursing manages clinical placement for University of Phoenix’s nursing program, including relationships with current and potential clinical sites and/or affiliations, clinical evaluation, data gathering of accreditation information, and associated compliance, to assess sites’ ability to support the achievement of student learning outcomes. An individual teaches two (2) courses in each twelve (12) month period, per academic year, based on college needs and requirements; and teaches one or more program residencies per year. In addition, a Clinical Coordinator Nursing regularly communicates with students to ensure student compliance with University policies and instructional standards and to support students’ success.
- Sustain current relationships with clinical sites and assist in identifying and securing new clinical sites/affiliation agreements. Negotiate and network with clinical agencies to ensure clinical placement sites are available for all clinical courses and appropriate for student experience. Ensure clinical agency contracts are up to date and comply with State Board of Nursing regulations and CCNE accreditation.
- Evaluate preceptor and clinical site/agency (communication with nurse manager on student clinical objectives). Confirm preceptor-student clinical schedules. Maintain clinical site contact roster & compliance of preceptor guidelines for CCNE accreditation.
- Collaborate to update necessary records to ensure current active affiliation with clinical sites and preceptors are available to students. Work with students to facilitate entry of information of agency and preceptor to the clinical documentation/tracking system and monitor entered student information to ensure compliance with the required clinical documents.
- Mitigate risk to program by proactively identifying and escalating to Program Chair students who are not compliant with requirements for clinical attendance.
- Teach one course, including didactic, residency, and clinical courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate program curricula in one of the practice-based disciplines within a college, every six (6) months; ensure all teaching is in accordance with established University of Phoenix-approved curriculum, policies, college requirements, and in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agency requirements and standards.
- Teach one (1) or more program residencies per year based on individual college needs and/or requirements; teach and lead Preceptor Courses; participate and supervise in skills and simulation activities and centers as necessary by college.
- Perform approved scholarly activities, including but not limited to conducting research and constructing scholarship projects through an active research and scholarship agenda; promoting research and scholarship through poster and/or podium presentations at conferences and meetings; publish in peer-reviewed journals; and grant writing and submission.
- Participate in applicable University committees, advising and other shared governance responsibilities, such as General Faculty Meetings, Content Area Meetings, College leadership, faculty and council meetings; serve on student standards committees.
- Communicate with students regularly according to University policy, using a variety of written and verbal channels; ensure availability to students as needed, based on the learning environment. Follow University policy and instructional standards to guide and direct students to resources that support student success, such as the clinical documentation/tracking system, academic and professional resources, and University resources.
- Be able to visit to clinical sites to maintain current and build new clinical relationships; be available to work throughout the workday, evenings and some weekends, as required, to meet business needs.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Master's or higher degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Must hold an active unencumbered or unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state the faculty works and resides OR a multistate RN license.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 2 years’ current applicable experience within the last 5 years.
- Must have 6 applicable credits that can include but are not limited to: Policy, Nursing Administration, Ethics, and/or Leadership
- Ability to drive to clinical sites to maintain current and build new relationships for clinical placements
- Must remain a University of Phoenix faculty member in good standing within the designated college
- Ability to be available to work throughout the workday and a few evenings per week, including some weekends and holidays
- SCHOLARSHIP: All faculty members must have one record of scholarship annually, within a rolling one year timeframe, that meets UOPX’s definition of scholarship engagement. Faculty who do not initially meet this requirement may still be qualified, however, they have one year from the date the content area is approved and/or the requirement effective date, to come into compliance with this Nursing Scholarship requirement to maintain content area approval.
- Must remain a University of Phoenix faculty member in good standing within the designated college
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Management and advocacy experience
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to identify issues; communicate with faculty, students, staff and agencies; and obtain support for the FNP program.

Pay Range
The annual pay range for this position is $63,200 (minimum), $95,500 (midpoint), and $127,800 (maximum).*
*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
