One Utah Service Fellowship Individual Placement Coordinator

Overview

The One Utah Service Fellowship (OUSF) project aims to address Utah's critical needs while improving the preparation for and prospects of success in post-secondary education or training for young adults (18+) by providing meaningful service opportunities (100-1,700 hours) in Healthy Futures, Education, and Capacity Building.

 

The One Utah Service Fellowship (OUSF) Individual Placement Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) is a new position responsible for overseeing the placement AmeriCorps/OUSF Fellows with non-profit, federal, state and locally focused projects around the state of Utah. This position works under the direction of the OUSF Director.

 

This will be an in-office position with a hybrid option available after 90 days of employment.

 

Periodic travel to Host partner sites is required. This is a permanent position that is contingent on continued grant and state appropriated funding.

Responsibilities

Developing/Maintaining Organization relationships 50%:

  • Develops new and maintains existing partnerships with higher education, non-profit, and federal, state and local government entities to execute education, access to care and capacity building resilience goals of the One Utah Service Fellowship
  • Vets and awards OUSF/AmeriCorps positions to partner organizations. Orients and oversees partner organizations' compliance to AmeriCorps rules and regulations.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes OUSF Individual Placement applications. Assists Director in issuing agreements and invoicing.
  • Provides guidance and training to partner site supervisors and OUSF AmeriCorps Individual Placement members.
  • Builds program capacity through mentorship, member training, and networking as well as the sharing of best practices.
  • Coordinates with public relations and marketing staff in various organizations to properly promote and increase visibility efforts for OUSF Individual Placements.
  • Assists host sites in the recruitment of OUSF AmeriCorps members and updating of OUSF website materials.

Coordinates OUSF Individual Placements 45%:

  • Coordinates with USU Student Affairs Business Services to ensure proper onboarding and exiting of AmeriCorps members from AmeriCorps terms of service.
  • Travels to partner service locations throughout the state of Utah for site visits.
  • Coordinates with the Utah State Commission on Service and Volunteerism to onboard and track AmeriCorps members, maintain member files, verify eligibility, create member service agreements, and process member enrollments and exits.
  • Develops, designs, and maintains Individual Placement processes and procedures, including member orientation, training, and member development.
  • Coordinates with OUSF staff and adjacent administrators to ensure standardized practices across Individual Placement programs.
  • Provides logistical support for Individual Placements including travel, reimbursements and per diem when needed for training and development purposes.

OUSF Organization Support 5%:

  • Participates in program staff meetings to address the program areas of strategic planning, recruitment goals, AmeriCorps compliance.
  • Attends professional meetings and training sessions to improve current OUSF operations.
  • Conducts continuous evaluation of program goals, outputs, and outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AmeriCorps member and program management preferred.
  • Experience developing partnerships with federal, state, and non-profit organizations for internship placements preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and partnership-building skills
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to use multiple data tracking/reporting systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Program leadership and development experience
  • Knowledge of AmeriCorps/National Service, community volunteerism, non-profit organizations, K-12 Education, Higher Education, and fundraising desired.

Advertised Salary

Minimum $41,700; Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits.
