ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide instructional design support to faculty through consultation with individuals and collaborative design teams.
- Assist faculty in developing course materials for hybrid and online courses.
- Assist faculty with translating materials intended for face-to-face instruction into materials appropriate for online delivery.
- Collaborate and facilitate professional development opportunities to strengthen online teaching and other technology-enhanced instruction, mainly through Calvin-supported technologies (Moodle, Microsoft 365, VoiceThread, etc.)
- Assist in the development and delivery of new initiatives.
- Opportunity to work on projects as assigned by Associate CIO of Academic Technology.
- Additional responsibilities based on interest and experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Advanced knowledge of the critical elements of online instructional design, including course mapping, pedagogy, and digital tools (e.g., learning management systems, LTIs).
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area related to teaching and learning and/or extensive experience in online instructional design.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or curriculum and instruction
- Experience managing Moodle, learning management systems, or other learning technologies
- Quality Matters Certifications
- STEM background
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may provide opportunities to supervise student employees.
LOCATION: Grand Rapids campus, hybrid up to 95% remote
