Description

The Luther College Admissions team is looking to add two members. Primary responsibilities of the positions include coordinating the recruitment of students from a specific geographical region, visiting targeted high schools, and attending select college fair programs. Duties also include interviewing prospective students on campus and assisting with other admissions-related activities and events as assigned. Extensive, primarily weekday overnight travel up to eight weeks in the fall and six weeks in the spring is required. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for scheduled group events and rotating primarily Saturday office coverage. This individual will also be assigned liaison responsibilities with Luther College academic departments and strategic recruitment projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for recruitment of students from a geographic area including the identification of prospects, solicitation of inquiries, applications, and enrollment deposits in a manner consistent with departmental and institutional objectives.
  • Provide services at the College admissions center: interviewing, evaluating applications, phoning, texting, using multiple databases, and coordinating activity with other administrative staff members in and outside of the Admissions Office.
  • Processing and interpreting student data information including the effectiveness.
  • Provide auxiliary support to expand our marketing, financial aid, and program efforts. This includes providing administrative support for office programs, events, and communication efforts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Enrollment or Vice President for Enrollment Management.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any major required. Must have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Familiarity with liberal arts colleges and fluency in a second language are desirable.
  • Experience: One year of relevant post graduate experience preferred. Experience in sales, marketing, communication, counseling, or higher education is a plus.
  • Strong written, and verbal skills. Must be enthusiastic, goal-oriented, self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of representing Luther energetically and positively to prospective students and their parents. Sense of humor is desirable.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that will enable them to be insured through the college.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires traveling on a regular basis throughout the year. When in the office: sedentary work. Sitting, standing, and walking in well-lighted and well-ventilated office involved.
