POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment will assume a leadership role in the overall operations of the Admissions Office, which manages many of the critical tasks related to student recruitment and onboarding. Within the Admissions Office, the Associate Director will be responsible for helping to increase the efficiency and interconnectedness of the various major areas, such as: Communications, Customer Service, Processing, Recruitment, and Transfer Credit Evaluations. External to the Admissions Office, the Associate Director will have a similar responsibility in helping to better integrate Admissions operations with those of the various campus stakeholders that play a role in the student onboarding process and experience. In the absence of the Director, the Associate Director will assist in managing all Admissions operations.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Manage the admissions and recruitment team of approximately 12+ staff members.
  • Develop strategic recruitment and outreach plans to help enhance enrollment. Utilize relevant data to make sound and informed decisions on how to recruit and enroll students.
  • Support the Director in managing all admissions operational activity to ensure efficiency, ethical practices, and transparent data-keeping. Utilize modern technology to keep operations as efficient as possible.
  • Lead undergraduate recruitment initiatives, including digital marketing, communication plans, print materials, on-campus experiences, off-campus visits, Open Houses, Community outreach, and partnerships.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including high school guidance counselors, principals, community college transfer offices, and non-profit leaders, to maximize Bronx Community College’s presence in all markets.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment and other key stakeholders throughout the College to implement a strategic enrollment plan for new students which meets academic and financial institutional goals. This will include advising on expansion into new regions based on market research and trends.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstration of progressive responsibility and administrative experience in higher education, experience in Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment in a public institution, as well as expertise in the applications of technology to these fields.
  • Excellent writing, editing, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills a must.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Manages on- and off-campus recruiting activities at a College or unit.

  • Develops and implements marketing strategies and recruitment initiatives
  • Manages one or more teams of admissions/recruiting staff, providing supervision, training, and development
  • Manages application review processes
  • Maintains relationships with selected academic divisions/departments to coordinate recruiting efforts
  • Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness of enrollment, recruitment, and marketing strategies
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$98,362 - $113,982. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
