The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ETTI), part of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (NUSTPB), is one of the largest and most renowned higher-education faculties in Romania, with over 3000 students and offering a large array of educational and research advantages. Within it, the Department of Electronic Devices, Circuits, and Architectures (DCAE) provides the basis for electronic engineering, with its main focus being…
on the microelectronics, optoelectronics, and nanotechnology specialization. The teaching and research activity of our members covers semiconductor device physics and operation, basic and advanced electronic circuits and systems, computer architectures, and programming languages. Over time, the DCAE department has developed research programs in the fields of semiconductor technology and devices, electronics, and computer system technology, with applications in fields such as graphics, video processing, spoken language technology and human-computer dialogue, advanced techniques in signal processing, artificial intelligence, and performance computing.
The current Teaching Assistant (Asistent universitar) post concerns the following subjects:
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP);
- Artificial Intelligence (AI); and
- Advanced Techniques in Digital Signal Processing (ATDSP).
The fields of DSP and AI have experienced a spectacular development, both theoretically and technologically. Increasing market requirements for products using DSP techniques and AI applications can be explained by the need for reliable and efficient electronic solutions, as well as the fundamental advantage of using the power of digital processing for signal treatment. Regarded as top areas of the beginning of the century and millennium, the market for DSP and AI continuously requires engineers with solid theoretical and practical knowledge.
This position involves the following teaching and research responsibilities:
- To hold laboratory sessions with groups of up to 30 / 15 students at a time, on the subjects of Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Techniques in Digital Signal Processing.
- To prepare teaching materials and guide the students through the processes of gaining knowledge and learning to solve problems specific to the DSP and AI fields.
- To evaluate the students at the end of each semester through appropriate theoretical and practical examinations.
- To conduct innovative theoretical and experimental research in the aforementioned fields, disseminated through conference papers and journal articles.
