Technical Event Support Coordinator
Posting Summary
As member of University Event Services (UES) team serve as primary point of contact for virtual and hybrid events and as consultant for faculty, staff and students. Support UES Coordinators and UES Production team to execute virtual and hybrid events for clients in the planning, advancing and execution of conferences, meetings and events. Work independently to collect event information and coordinate technical needs for virtual/hybrid events. Use judgment in prioritizing work activities and determining solutions to meet client's event needs. Utilize software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams Live, EMS, Outlook, video editing software, etc.) and effective customer service, interactive coordination, communication and professionalism to support clients. May directly supervise a team of student staff as well as provide functional supervision of other UES Production staff or external vendors for specific events. Maintain technical inventory and make recommendations to promote optimum utilization of services, software and hardware. Actively reinforce, encourage and participate in initiatives that promote safety first. Engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience in order to promote a workplace that encourages safety and diversity.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associates Degree and two to three years of related experience in hospitality/event services in event production including video recording, live streaming, lighting, sound systems required. Experience technically supporting events on a variety of platforms including but not limited to Zoom, Microsoft Teams Live, Facebook Live and Instagram, LiveStream, YouTube Live, etc. Skills with troubleshooting computer systems and how they relate to audio-visual systems and ability to quickly identify and resolve issues at an event. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills and experience working effectively both within a team and independently. Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain and driver's check required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening: ability to lift 61 lbs. and push/pull 62 lbs. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to work in inclement weather when outdoors. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability, and delivering exceptional value to customers.
Desirable Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in supporting at least one multimedia application (Final Cut X, Adobe Premier, iMovie). Crestron hardware certification. Knowledge of working in an academic environment. Vocational or technical training or equivalent experience in relevant audiovisual fields highly desirable. Experience using broadcasting/recording equipment such as the NewTek TriCaster, vMix, OBS, and other equipment or streaming protocols including RTMP, etc. Thorough understanding on the function of personal computing devices and their relationship with event technology equipment pertaining to Microsoft Windows, Apple's MacOs and iOs.
Anticipated Pay Range
$24.50/hour to $26.50/hour
Special Conditions
Weekend work required, Non-standard work hours required, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Travel to and from worksites required, 40 hour work week, Background Check required for this position
