We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Specialist to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for FSE and the wider University. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering, the Technical Specialist will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research and professional services. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Faculty’s Mass Spectrometry and Separations team. As a member of the Mass Spectrometry and Separations facility, which is co-located with the Michael Barber Centre for Collaborative Mass Spectrometry (MBCCMS) the primary responsibility of this role will be to provide technical support to research and teaching to ensure the requirements of the Faculty, wider university and external customers are met. The key focus area will be the application of lipidomics analysis. The postholder is expected to oversee the operation and maintenance of the mass spectrometry platforms, the associated computational resource and day-to-day supervision of experimental work carried out by PhD students, PDRAs, and final year project students.
