Technology Accessibility and Compliance Specialist

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Technology Accessibility and Compliance Specialist. The incumbent under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of specialized duties involved in identifying and recommending solutions for accessibility barriers based on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as well as compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and other accessibility related laws for Information and Communication Technology. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:
This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 monthsand will be used to fill current and future vacancies.
Type of position: Full-Time - Monday - Friday
Salary: Range CL-43
$35.18 - $44.00 Hourly
$6,098 - $7,626 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)
Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($35.18 per hour) or B ($37.21 per hour) on the salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
The equivalent of at least two (2) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in some combination of assistive technology, instructional design, training, training/e-learning materials creation, technical writing, technical support of faculty and/or LMS, accessible web/media creation, or related experience.
Coursework or certificate in Instructional Design is preferred.
