The Technology Support Assistant provides high-quality, customer-centric technical support to faculty, staff, and students across campus via phone, email, and in-person. This role manages the full hardware and software lifecycle-including imaging, unboxing, and workstation configuration for Windows, Apple, and mobile devices-while maintaining precise records within a ticketing system. This role will balance technical acumen with the patience and communication skills necessary to deliver a superior service experience.
Job Duties:
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to the Assistant Director, Technology Support.
Work Setting/Work Schedule:
- This position requires an on-campus presence.
- This role will work 30-35 hours per week.
- Non-exempt (hourly), non-benefits eligible job with an expected end date of August 31, 2026, unless deemed necessary to continue.
What You Will Do:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for Windows, Apple, and mobile devices, etc. Providing both immediate fixes and sustainable long-term solutions.
- Manage the lifecycle of campus technology, including imaging, installing, and upgrading equipment and software packages tailored to specific end-user requirements and needs.
- Efficiently manage inventory and logistics-from unboxing to campus-wide delivery-while maintaining precise records of incidents and service requests within the ticketing system.
- Deliver individualized support to the campus community while strictly maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of University data and information resources.

What You Will Bring:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working know knowledge of Windows and Apple hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Ability and enthusiasm for learning new technology tools, operating systems, applications, etc.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are a must, as are excellent coordination and organization abilities.
- Strong customer service perspective and a keen interest in providing high-quality services to the campus community.
Preferred, but not required:
- One (1) or more years experience working on a college campus in a technology support position.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience supporting PC hardware and Windows in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with Apple hardware and OS.
- Experience supporting end users.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to to move and set up computing equipment up to 30 lbs
- Able to work on-site, to meet clients, answer phone calls and chats hours
- Able to go to client workstations on campus

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
