Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I men's soccer program. Assists with all aspects of the men's soccer program and plays an integral part in the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, and skill development. This position must work within UNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines to provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.

  • Assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I Men's Soccer program along with the overall coaching, management, and administration of the program
  • Teach the mental and physical aspects of the game while preparing student-athletes for life after intercollegiate sports
  • Assist with skill development of players and implement team strategies
  • Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and university as well as the rules and regulations of the CAA and NCAA
  • Assist the second assistant, team manager, and support staff while maintaining organization and administration of the program within a budget
  • Track countable athletic related activities through ARMS online system
  • Assist with team community service events and assist with team fundraising
  • Assist with annual golf fundraiser to raise funds for UNCW Men's Soccer program
  • Participate in university, civic, and public relations activities for promotion of the sport
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Must be highly dependable, flexible, and available to work evenings and weekends
• Possess excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors
• Work effectively as a team member
• Previous customer service experience preferred

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Previous event staffing experience

Work Hours: As needed basis - usually weekend or evening hours
Work Days: Varies by events
Hours Per Week: Intermittent, occasional work for events

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,300 per month
