About the role
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of the internal audit plan, to manage appropriate actions arising from Audit findings, and to follow up with stakeholders to ensure actions are undertaken. This role reports to the Director of Governance and University Secretary.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline such as finance, Accounting, Economics or Commerce
- Ideally, a minimum of three years of experience in an Internal Audit and investigations role
- Extensive knowledge of internal audit principles and frameworks
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills conducive to effective liaison and engagement
- A strong attention to details
About the Department
The Governance Division supports and enables governance at UNE. The Division encompasses the Office of the Director Governance and University Secretary, the University Secretariat, Internal Audit, and Records, Policy and Governance Unit.
Internal Audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the University's operations. The team has an important role in helping the University accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. It manages the fraud and corruption process at the University and is a key contact for the referrals and engagement with the Independent Commission against Corruption.
