DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Staff Compensation Programs unit oversees systemwide staff compensation policy and program design, tools and systems, working closely with compensation and human resource professionals at the ten campuses and five medical centers. We facilitate collection and analysis of internal and external market data for strategic decision support and planning. We ensure that compensation policies and programs comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. We also work closely with talent management professionals across the campuses and medical centers to ensure alignment of the university's compensation programs and strategies with recruiting, career development and broader HR strategies.
The Executive Compensation Programs unit oversees systemwide executive compensation policy and program design, tools and systems, collaborating with the campuses, medical centers and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. We oversee the creation and maintenance of the executive compensation structures (Market Reference Zones) and all incentive and recognition programs and related policies, systemwide.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a TEMPORARY position within our Temporary Office of the President Staffing (TOPS) program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Systemwide Compensation to review Compensation processes and workflows to build automated workflows, standardized intake forms, dashboards, and a tracking system.
- Document workflows, create SOPs. In collaboration with SW Comp team, create standardized tools to reduce email reliance and ensure a centralized repository of past, current, and future requests.
- In conjunction with SW Comp team, help to define and document processes. Provide JDXpert system administration support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of SmartSheet.
- Self-motivated and works both independently and as part of a team
- Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates problem solving skills
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience creating smartsheet forms and dashboards.
- Knowledge of UC Policy and Procedure.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement. The person hired will be required to reside within California.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the salary grade for a position. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position.
