Position Summary
The Division of Student Life is accepting applications for a Temporary Coordinator for Empire State Service Corps within Student Engagement. In this role, you will join a dynamic team of enthusiastic and skilled professionals who provide intentional experiences that ignite UB pride, inspire active involvement, and cultivate socially responsible, well-rounded individuals who are equipped to succeed both personally and professionally in a global society.
In this temporary position, you are responsible for coordinating the Empire State Service Corps (ESSC) Program. Your responsibilities include:
- Recruit, hire, place, and supervise ESSC student corps members for summer and academic-year programs.
- Serve as primary liaison to ESSC students and support AmeriCorps participation and program engagement.
- Coordinate campus, community, and host site partnerships and placements.
- Serve as liaison to SUNY ESSC and AmeriCorps, including reporting and compliance.
- Manage payroll, budgeting, and financial operations.
- Support ESSC events, special projects, and assessments.
- Chaperone student travel to annual ESSC Summit
Due to the nature of our work, some evening and weekend hours will be required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience or bachelors degree
- Experience working with college students or volunteers
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with community or civic engagement programs
- Student supervision experience
- Familiarity with SUNY or higher education systems
Salary Range
$51,261
