Are you passionate about artificial intelligence and eager to help STEM professionals upskill in this rapidly evolving field? The Rabb School of Continuing Studies at Brandeis University is seeking an experienced and innovative academic to serve as a Micro Credential Course Developer to create an engaging, fully online, asynchronous training course: AI Fundamentals for STEM Professionals.

In this project-based opportunity, you will design a 10–15 hour micro credential course that introduces core AI concepts, practical tools, and real-world applications in scientific, technical, and engineering environments. Your work will empower professionals to enhance their productivity, solve problems creatively, and collaborate more effectively with AI.

What You Will Do:

  • Design stackable, self-paced modules with practical application and measurable learning outcomes.
  • Translate complex AI principles into workforce-relevant content.
  • Incorporate responsible AI practices and highlight ethical considerations in technical environments.
  • Collaborate with learner designers and instructional technologists to enhance course accessibility and learner engagement.
  • Create course content and materials, including course syllabus, course overview, learning outcomes, activities and assignments, required readings, detailed rubrics, grading criteria, summative assessments, and reflective components.
  • Customize course design based on global learner personas and industry standards.
  • Ensure modularity and potential stackability for integration into broader credential pathways.

What You Bring:

  • A master’s (or doctoral) degree in AI, computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on AI experience in STEM contexts.
  • 1+ year of teaching experience, preferably online.
  • Comfort with LMS platforms and digital authoring tools.
  • Familiarity with platforms like TensorFlow, Azure AI, or Scikit-Learn.
  • A creative and collaborative spirit with strong communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills to create cohesive, learner-centered experiences.
  • Organized with a focus on learner impact.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.

Preferred Extras

  • Experience designing online training programs or micro-credentials.
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS.
  • Knowledge of adaptive learning, gamified learning, or AI-enhanced education tools.

Details:

Fully remote (U.S.-based applicants only, no visa sponsorships). 6-week development timeline (~25 total hours). Total Compensation: $1,000.
