Job Description Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following disciplines:

ENGLISH

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition;
2. OR
3. Possession of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the above;
4. AND
5. A Masters Degree in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing, or journalism;
6. OR
7. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in English. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
8. OR
9. The equivalent qualifications. (Candidates who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form. Refer to the Equivalency Procedures below. This is not a process to waive the minimum qualifications.)

For non-Masters degree disciplines, please note that the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelors degree and six years of experience with an Associates degree.
