Job Description
This temporary laboratory technician position is for up to 3 months. Duties and responsibilities may include any of the following:
- Assist with experimental setup, execution, and troubleshooting across ongoing projects
- Learn a new technique by watching the technique, then performing the technique, then teaching the technique to other personnel.
- Perform routine molecular biology, biochemistry, cell and/or developmental biology experiments as needed once proficiency is demonstrated.
- Contribute to protocol development and optimization as needed
- Assist with data collection, basic analysis, and organization of results
- Interpret the results of the experiments in consultation with supervisor
- Plan the next set of experiments in consultation with supervisor
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records (electronic and/or paper)
- Participate in lab meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks/projects
- Support training of new lab members and contribute to a collaborative lab environment
- Perform routine laboratory procedures, data management, and general lab maintenance
- Prepare reagents, media, and buffers; manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment
- Follow and uphold biosafety and institutional compliance protocols
This position is a temporary 3-month, non-benefit eligible, unranked, position at 40 hours/week.

High school graduate
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15 to 22/hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
