Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering)
Job Summary
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in civil engineering in the area of environmental engineering. This is a 9-month appointment, with a preferred start date of Fall 2026.
Teaching
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis on environmental and sustainability engineering.
- Provide effective instruction, academic advising, and mentorship to students.
Research
- Establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program in environmental and sustainability engineering.
- Conduct impactful research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present findings at national and international conferences.
Service
- Contribute to the department, college, and university through service on committees, curriculum development, and participation in accreditation activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Ph.D. in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related field with a focus in environmental engineering is required by the time of appointment.
- Candidates must also hold a bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent) program.
