University Counseling Center Counselor
Job Description
The University Counseling Center at Tennessee State University is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and culturally competent mental health professional to provide a full range of psychological services to a diverse student population. This includes clinical assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach programming, supervision of master's level interns and consultation services for the campus community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term individual and group to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention, including after-hours on-call rotation support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Deliver campus outreach and education programs focused on mental health awareness, prevention, and wellness.
- Consult with faculty, staff, and student organizations regarding student concerns and mental health topics.
- Participate in weekly clinical team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
- Engage in continual professional development and training to remain current on best practices.
- Provide weekly supervision to masters-level interns, if applicable.
