University Library Technician

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Electronic Resources Technician ensures reliable user access to eBooks, databases, and government documents by maintaining accurate holdings and metadata across library platforms and external systems. The position supports activation workflows, subscription records, license configuration in Alma under the guidance of the Assistant Director for Resources, and metadata quality control while troubleshooting access issues and verifying system consistency.

The primary purposes of this role are to:

  • Maintain accurate activation and management of electronic databases, eBooks, and government documents
  • Support metadata accuracy, system consistency, and data integrity across Alma, discovery systems, and external systems (e.g., Tipasa, Springshare, OCLC Worldcat)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access issues reported by users and staff
  • Maintain and track subscription records, KBART files, and license terms under guidance from the Assistant Director
  • Support collection assessment through usage statistics and reporting
  • Participate in projects to improve workflows and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
