Offer Description
All candidates have to fulfill the requirements of art. 113 and art. 116 of the Act of the 20th of July 2018 „The Law of Higher Education and Science” (Journal of Laws 2024, pos. 1571 as amended), the requirements of the Statute of the University of Szczecin and meet the criteria listed below.
The competition is the first step in the procedure of employment of an academic and its positive result is the basis for further proceedings.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates entering the competition need to submit the following documents:
- declaration of fulfilling the requirements described in art. 113 of the Act of the 20th of July 2018 „The Law of Higher Education and Science” (Journal of Laws 2024, pos. 1571) (a form to download),
- an employment application addressed to the Rector of the University of Szczecin,
- curriculum vitae and a written questionnaire (a form to download),
- certified copies of documents confirming obtaining of a doctoral degree and (it the candidate has one) an academic degree of a habilitated doctor in the discipline of mathematics or an equivalent degree, in case of documents written in a language different from Polish, also certified translations of the documents into Polish and a certificate of equivalence of the foreign diploma with its Polish counterpart
- declaration of choosing the University of Szczecin as the main place of employment (a form to download),
- a consent of the candidate for personal data being processed by the University of Szczecin in connection with the employment procedure, expressed in a form available at the University web page (a form to download),
- information about scientific achievements in the discipline of mathematics, confirming research independence (a list of publications with their electronic copies, conference and seminar speeches, academic internships, participation in research grants, etc.),
- description of the research plans for the next 2-3 years (no more than 2 pages),
- information from the National Criminal Register about no criminal record in the scope of crimes specified in the chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code in articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code (Journal of Laws 2024, pos. 17 as amended) and in the act of the 29th of July 2005 “The Act of Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws 2023, pos. 1939 as amended) or in the scope of corresponding to these crimes prohibited acts specified in the provisions of foreign law – in accordance with art. 21 of the act of the 13th of May 2016 “The Act on Counteracting Threats of Sexual Crimes and Protection of Minors” (Journal of Laws 2024, pos 560),
- in case of foreign nationals: 1) information about no criminal record from the criminal register of the country of origin issued for the professional or volunteering child-related activities, 2) declaration of the country/countries of residence for the last 20 years different from the Republic of Poland and information from the criminal registers of these countries (the form available at; https://bip.usz.edu.pl/zarzadzenie/20384/zarzadzenie-nr-57-2024, encl. 1a), 3) declaration of no criminal record in the case when the law of the state from which the information is to be submitted does not provide for such information or in the case where the state does not keep criminal records (the form is available at: https://bip.usz.edu.pl/zarzadzenie/20384/zarzadzenie-nr-57-2024, encl. 1b).
Specific Requirements
A candidate should be able to communicate in Polish and in English both in speech and in writing, at a level sufficient to carry on research activities.
A candidate may also submit other relevant documents or provide information helpful in the competition procedures.

The Competition Committee may consider it appropriate for a candidate to present qualifications in person in front of the Committee.
