Videography/Film Instructor (MGD and FVM)
Summary of Position
The Visual, Audio, and Media Arts Department (VAMA) at RRCC is seeking a part-time Instructor(s) to teach Videography and Film/Video & Media courses that may include in-person, remote, hybrid, hyflex and online. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. This position reports to the VAMA Department Chair. The work schedule may be held days, evenings, and weekends at the Lakewood Campus location. May require hours outside of normal work schedule. This position may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. This position is open and continuous. Candidates selected will be contacted.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent oral, written and listening skills.
- Experience in the field of film/video production.
- Experience with professional non-linear editing software for video and audio, such as Adobe Premiere and Adobe AfterEffects.
- Flexible teaching style to accommodate individual learning styles.
- Consider and willingness to create an environment based on equity, inclusion, and diversity.
- Ability to work with and motivate students.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs and learning management systems used in the department and on-campus, such as Desire2Learn.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Graphic Design or related field and has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 4000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years (2000 hours if at Bachelor's or higher). Evaluation Methods: Resume/CV, Transcripts, Portfolio.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position. Moves, positions, and transports gear and other supplies up to 25lbs in studio and field settings. Frequent movement around classroom, studio, or outdoor production locations. Extended periods of standing during instruction or filming, and sitting during editing and post-production demonstrations. The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Advertised Pay
The pay for this position is $1,149.00-$1,263.00 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.
