Visiting Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship
The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time, term position with the possibility of renewal for a visiting assistant professor to direct the McNeely Center for Entrepreneurship and to teach courses in entrepreneurship starting in August 2026.
The McNeely Center empowers students to become entrepreneurial leaders who think critically, act boldly, and drive meaningful change — combining liberal arts insight with entrepreneurial action. Our mission is to integrate the critical thinking and broad perspectives of the liberal arts with the practical, solution-driven mindset of entrepreneurship, cultivating leaders and change-makers for an era of rapid transformation. The person filling this full-time position is permitted to do consulting or other work outside of this role, so long as it does not interfere with their primary responsibility to this position.

- Lead strategy and operations for the McNeely Center, growing impact and visibility.
- Plan and deliver flagship programs/events: Big Idea Competition, McNeely Market, CSB+SJU Entrepreneur of the Year, and alumni/community gatherings.
- Recruit, mentor, and support students, including Entrepreneur Scholars; design summer entrepreneurship programming for high school students.
- Advance curriculum integration and faculty development; teach three entrepreneurship courses (12 credits) per year.
- Positive engagement as a member of the faculty of home department, Global Business Leadership.
- Build partnerships and secure resources—cultivate donors and corporate partners, write proposals, and align support to strategic priorities.
- Manage people and finances—supervise staff, develop and oversee budgets, and ensure transparent, responsible fiscal management.
- Measure and report outcomes to institutional leadership; gather stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.
Required:
- A Master's or PhD in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to teach upper-level and lower-level entrepreneurship-related courses.
- Demonstrated experience leading or administering an academic program, center, or comparable organization (e.g., budgeting, supervision, assessment, and external engagement).
- Visionary thinker with the ability to enhance the entrepreneurship ecosystem through strategic initiatives and programming.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills across diverse stakeholder groups, including academic departments, students, faculty, and community partners.
- Comfort and sensitivity in working with students from diverse backgrounds, including international students and students with varied entrepreneurial aspirations.
Preferred:
- A proven ability to create an extensive community network to support Center initiatives and engage experts and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in undergraduate curriculum development.
- Willingness and ability to lead domestic and international business immersion trips with undergraduate students.
