Visiting Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies
The Jewish Studies Program at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2026. We seek candidates to teach courses in Jewish history and literatures and related courses. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations while contributing to a vibrant learning community that values academic freedom, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would enhance the educational experience of students and further the College's educational goals. The Jewish Studies Program has courses in both the texts and many cultures of the Jews and is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary. It covers a time period from the biblical to the present and spans all the countries where Jews have lived and continue to live. We welcome applicants from a wide variety of disciplines and areas of expertise.
Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred. The teaching load for this position is five courses over two semesters.
