Visiting Assistant Professor Or Instructor Of Japanese
Position Introduction:
The Chinese and Japanese Department invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Japanese to begin in August 2026.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will teach five courses at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. In addition to teaching, service activities within the department, such as cultural events and meetings, are expected. An MA in Japanese or a related field and experience teaching Japanese language are required.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The annual base starting salary range for this position is $89,000 to $93,000 (USD). When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidate's education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
