Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Geosciences
Job Description
We are searching for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor who will be part of a team of four faculty that execute our introductory geoscience course The Dynamic Earth (GEOS 102) in the spring 2026 semester. This course has two lecture sections of 30 students and 5 lab sections. The Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor will teach one lecture section and collaborate with the other team members on syllabus content and flow to ensure both lecture sections are well in sync with the lab sequences. One or two meetings prior to the start of the semester will be required to complete this course planning in person. There are no expectations for this position for departmental service, professional development, or advising.
Basic Qualifications
PhD degrees candidates and postdoctoral researchers in geosciences disciplines seeking teaching experience. Ideally the candidate has had one or more teaching assistant positions and/or prior teaching experience.
Position Information
Teaching Load: 0.2 FTE (one course)
Term of Appointment: January 12, 2026 - May 31, 2026. No possible renewal.
Target Start Date: January 12, 2026
Minimum Salary: $10,000
