Position Details

The Department of History, Geography and Legal Studies in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for a one-semester Visiting Assistant Professor of History or Visiting Lecturer of History for Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach 4 courses that semester in support of specific assessment outcomes for the Spartan Studies general education program, including courses such as "Wars and Revolutions in the Modern World." Subfield and region of specialization are open. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or ABD doctoral candidacy in History required. The ideal candidate will have a record of success teaching writing-infused courses. Willingness to craft syllabi, assignments, and pedagogy to serve specific (but flexible) student learning outcomes is a necessity.
