Qualifications: A PhD in History or a related field is required by January 2024. Candidates without a PhD must include a letter from their committee chair stating completion before the start date. Applicants must be no more than four years beyond PhD conferral.

Description: The Department of History at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a two-and-a-half-year postdoctoral fellowship in Early American History, beginning January 2024. We welcome scholars working in early American history, with special interest in the late-eighteenth and early-nineteenth centuries, including the American Revolution, early republic, women and gender, and race and slavery in North America and the Atlantic world. The fellow will teach two courses per semester, including both halves of the US history survey, and upper-level courses aligned with their research. The fellow will be paired with a faculty mentor, receive support for manuscript development, and be eligible for research and conference travel funds.
