Visiting Professor of Feminist Gender and Sexuality Studies

Wesleyan University’s Department of Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies invites applications for a one year full-time visiting professor of Feminist Gender and Sexuality Studies with expertise in Trans Studies and substantive research and teaching interests in intersectional trans studies or trans/queer of color critique, beginning September 1, 2026. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewable for a second year based on eligibility, performance, and funding. This position is intended for faculty in the early stages of their career. Candidates must have experience teaching or demonstrate the capacity to teach courses in gender and sexuality studies, though their PhD may come from women’s, gender and sexuality studies or a related field. The Visiting Professor will teach introductory gender studies courses for the FGSS major, as well as other courses in their area of specialization, with a teaching load of 3/2, in person on Wesleyan’s campus. With a strong and diverse undergraduate student body, Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship and teaching very highly.
