Title: Part-Time Head Coach – Women’s Flag Football

Position Summary
The Part-Time Head Coach for Women’s Flag Football is responsible for the overall development, administration, and leadership of the intercollegiate Women’s Flag Football program. The Head Coach will ensure the program operates with integrity, in full compliance with all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules, and with a commitment to the academic and personal success of the student-athletes.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Coaching and Team Management
- Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and competition schedules.
- Develop game strategies, in-game coaching, and provide individual and group instruction to enhance player performance and skill development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes good sportsmanship, discipline, and commitment.
- Manage team travel logistics, including transportation, meals, and accommodations.
- Oversee the assignment and supervision of any assistant or volunteer coaches.
Recruiting and Retention
- Identify, scout, evaluate, and actively recruit prospective student-athletes who align with Anna Maria College’s admissions, academic, and athletic standards.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, correspondence, and campus visits in compliance with all institutional and NCAA regulations.
- Implement strategies to maximize student-athlete retention within the program.
Student-Athlete Welfare and Academic Monitoring
- Monitor and support the academic progress and classroom engagement of all student-athletes to ensure continued eligibility and progress toward a degree.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes regarding their personal conduct, development, and well-being.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and coordinate with the Athletic Training staff for injury prevention and care.
Administrative and Compliance
- Develop and manage the program’s operating budget, including tracking expenses, managing inventory, and processing purchase orders for equipment and supplies.
- Ensure strict compliance with all rules and regulations of Anna Maria College, the conference (e.g., MASCAC), and the NCAA Division III.
- Organize and participate in departmental and campus events, such as admissions open houses, community service, and fundraising efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and necessary documentation as required by the Athletics Department.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience in flag football, tackle football, or a related sport, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully recruit and retain qualified student-athletes.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record acceptable to drive college vehicles for team travel.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Collegiate coaching experience (Assistant or Head Coach).
- Master’s degree.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Experience working with a diverse student body and a commitment to supporting underrepresented populations.
Salary Range: $8,000-$10,000
