Job Duties: The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh seeks a dynamic, experienced leader to serve as the inaugural Head Coach for its new Women’s Flag Football program, set to launch in Spring 2026. This is a 100% appointment responsible for building the program from the ground up in alignment with UW-Oshkosh, WIAC, and NCAA Division III (emerging sport) guidelines.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Launch, lead, and manage all facets of the new Women’s Flag Football program.
- Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
- Design and implement practice plans, training programs, and competitive strategies.
- Oversee team operations including travel logistics, equipment needs, and budget management.
- Foster a culture of academic success, leadership, inclusivity, and student-athlete well-being.
- Build and maintain positive relationships within the campus and greater Oshkosh community.
- Collaborate with campus departments to promote program visibility and support student-athlete development.
Department: Athletics
Compensation: Starting at $50,000 commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1–3 years of coaching and/or recruiting experience in women’s flag football or a closely related field (e.g., football, women’s athletics).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for recruiting and competition.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Proven track record of program-building, recruiting success, and athlete development.
- Prior experience coaching in collegiate athletics.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
