Work, Health and Safety Lecturer Continuing, Full Time Appointment VET Academic Level A – annual salary $100,892 – $111,253 pa Plus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave Alice Springs or Palmerston Campus Use your industry knowledge and experience in Work, Health and Safety to grow and develop the WHS sector of the Northern Territory. About the Position As the WHS Lecturer, you will be responsible for contributing to the teaching effort of programs provided by TAFE faculty at CDU. This includes preparing, delivering and assessing students to the Business Services Training Package's competency standards and WHS units of other training packages in line with best teaching practices and industry standards within a team environment. Units from other Training Packages may be required to be delivered from time to time. The role contributes to growing the teaching business and anticipates and responds to industry training requirements. This position is available at either our Alice Springs or Palmerston campus and is suited for a person with solid industry experience and proven history of effective communication with students, employers and community leaders in the field. About You To be successful, you will require:  Possession of the following: a. Possess education, training and/or relevant industry experience equivalent to completing a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent. b. Current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its successor) and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required.  Demonstrated experience providing training within a workplace setting or educational institution.  Experience in researching and developing training tools to meet the needs of students and/or industry clients.  Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including communicating culturally sensitively with internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.  Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.  Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software packages.  Must possess a C-class driver's license or higher with the ability to travel to regional and remote locations. Desirable competencies  Demonstrated ability to abide by and implement Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Equal Opportunity Policies and Procedures.  Hold Diploma Work Health and Safety  Flexible working hours with the ability to teach scheduled evening tutorials for students. The base salary will be in the range of $100,892 - $111,253 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $86,763 - $130,166 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
