About us
One of the aims of UCL's Strategic Plan is to bring together teaching, assessment and employability in order to support student futures. To that end, the new ‘UCL Higher Education Development & Support Institute’ (HEDS) is being established. HEDS brings together UCL Arena (UCL’s Centre for Research-based Education) and UCL Careers.
About the role
As a Work-Related Learning Officer, you'll be one member of a two-strong Work Related Learning team collaborating with five Careers Consultants to develop and deliver careers education programmes to the students across the four life and medical sciences faculties.
You will work under the direction of, and in collaboration with, The LMS Work Related Learning Manager, in order to set up and run activities for students. This could include industry forums, career taster workshops, training events, mentoring schemes, work-shadowing opportunities and collaborative projects with other departments.
You will engage with relevant academic staff, employers, alumni and other professional bodies. You'll also create engaging marketing material and facilitate events. In addition to your work for LMS, you will also be expected to contribute to some central UCL Careers, and HEDS-wide, activities.
