The Opportunity:

As the Washington State University (WSU) Collaborative Advocacy, Research, Education and Support (C.A.R.E.S.) Teen and Communications Program Coordinator, you will provide mentorship, coordination, and operational support for youth-focused programming. In this role, you manage logistical planning, communications, youth leadership development, and participant engagement across multiple program initiatives.

You also support the development and execution of fundraising efforts by tracking donor engagement, assisting with fundraising campaign planning, and contributing to Giving Day activities. In addition, you help with statewide outreach and marketing efforts and coordinate the 4-H Prevention Film Camp and the 4-H Film Festival Camp.

You oversee website maintenance and monitoring and manage social media accounts for WSU C.A.R.E.S., Teens Helping Teens, and Supporting Strong Families. Your responsibilities include developing, scheduling, and publishing promotional content; creating graphics and short-form digital materials; and ensuring all communications align with WSU branding guidelines as well as state and federal accessibility requirements.

Additional Information:

This is a part time (50% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $1,832.50 - $2,441 at 50% FTE ($3,665 - $4,882 at 100% FTE) | Range 41 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within targeted counties.
  • Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively, with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Workday.
  • Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures in the areas of personnel, finance, and administration.
  • Experience in higher education, local or state agency, or equivalent.
