At the Natural History Museum of Utah, you'll work with a supportive team dedicated to inspiring curiosity about science and the natural world. Whether it's leading hands-on activities, engaging young learners, or working behind the scenes, you'll play a key role in creating unforgettable experiences. About the Role: This is an entry-level position with responsibilities that shift throughout the year.- Summer (June-August): Support our award-winning summer camp by helping with set-up, clean-up, supply prep, and assisting with activities—including leading part of the program!
- Rest of the Year (September-May): Assist with other exciting programs such as birthday parties, youth classes, late nights, and Museum sleepovers.
- Support Exceptional Programs - Collaborate with our team to ensure every program is fun, engaging, and packed with high-quality learning experiences.
- Bring Activities to Life - Help set up and facilitate hands-on science experiments, creative projects, and exciting activities that spark curiosity and excitement in young learners.
- Keep Things Running Smoothly - Assist with program logistics, from organizing materials to ensuring seamless transitions between activities.
- Create a Clean & Inspiring Space - Help deliver supplies, set up interactive lab spaces, and ensure everything is tidy and ready for the next adventure.
- Be a Supervision Superstar - Help keep an eye on participants, ensuring they stay safe, engaged, and having a blast throughout the program time.
- Deliver WOW-Worthy Customer Service - Be a friendly, helpful presence, making every interaction a positive one.
- Jump In Where Needed - Be flexible and ready to assist with other programming needs as they arise-team players help make the magic happen!
- Experience with Young Explorers - You've worked with kids in camps, classrooms, museums, or other informal learning spaces and know how to spark their curiosity.
- Reliable & Organized - You're the person who shows up on time, ready to go, with everything in order. Dependability is your middle name!
- A Fantastic Communicator - Whether you're giving directions, answering questions, or leading an activity, you know how to connect with participants and teammates.
- Energetic & Self-Motivated - You bring enthusiasm, take initiative, and aren't afraid to dive in to create an unforgettable experience.
- Passionate About STEAM & Nature - You have a broad knowledge of science, technology, engineering, art, and math-or at least a strong curiosity to learn more!
- Customer Service Pro - You're friendly, approachable, and ready to help, ensuring every participant has a positive experience.
- Bilingual? Even Better! - Spanish speakers (or proficiency in another language) are a huge plus in making our programs more welcoming.
• Summer (June-August): Primarily weekdays, with an occasional weekend (advanced notice provided). Staff training occurs the first full week of June and is mandatory. Camp weeks run Monday-Thursday, approximately 7:45am-4:45pm. Fridays include a one-hour morning meeting.
• Fall-Spring (September-May): Primarily weekends, with occasional Friday afternoons or evenings and most Saturdays and Sundays.
