Mich Thornton is a Lecturer in Audiology at Charles Darwin University within the Faculty of Health. Thornton contributes to research and teaching in audiology and is registered to supervise postgraduate research. Key publications include co-authorship of Interaction with an AI Chatbot in Audiology Education as a Critical Learning Agent in the Hearing Journal in 2025, The AI Revolution: Rethinking Assessment in Audiology Training Programs in 2023, and Factors influencing audiologists’ perception of moral climate in the workplace in the International Journal of Audiology in 2018. Thornton has also participated in earlier studies on hearing aids and help-seeking behaviors in older adults. Current research involvement includes serving as Co Investigator on the project Using the Candidacy Framework to improve access to psychosocial services for people with hearing loss, running from 2023 to 2026.
