2026-27 Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science. We seek candidates with a specialization in comparative or international politics, with a preference for candidates who have area expertise in European or Asian politics, analytical expertise in political institutions (international or domestic), and the ability to teach U.S. foreign policy. This position is a full time, nine month, on-campus, benefits-eligible position. Benefits include health care plan and access to tuition programs for employees and dependents. The start date for this position is August 15, 2026, with an end date of May 15, 2027.

Responsibilities:

The teaching load for this position is 8 courses, 4 in each semester. In some cases, more than one iteration of a specific course might be offered as part of the 8-course requirement.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have a Master's degree (required) or a Ph.D. degree (preferred) in Political Science, and a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the university level.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Nine-month appointment
  • Salary Range: 62-65K, and based on experience
