The Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) supports the co-curricular and out-of-the-classroom experiences of West Chester University students and aspires to support a campus community where students build healthy personal and professional connections, develop a sense of belonging, and engage thoughtfully with others.
The Office of Student Experience (SXP) provides valuable resources for off-campus living, commuter students, and family members. SXP is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that connects students and families with the university and the larger West Chester area community through intentional engagement opportunities to support institutional retention and graduation goals.
The Student and Family Experience Marketing Manager develops, implements, and manages the accuracy and coordination of the SXP message; collaborates with campus partners to develop and market SXP activities, programs, and initiatives; manages SXP digital media and other student and family engagement platforms; manages the SXP operational budget and allocations; and collects and analyzes data to make strategic decisions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience creatively developing and managing integrated communications activities and social media platforms; collaborating with diverse campus partners to meet goals; excellent written communication skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail; and knowledge of budget management and allocations.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the production of SXP print and digital marketing and website content development
- Develop branding to ensure consistent messaging and "voice" across communication efforts
- Develop a student experience social media communication strategy to drive awareness and engagement
- Develop new and reimagine existing family engagement strategies including programming during critical student transitions
- Collaborate with Residence Life and Housing to develop comprehensive marketing plans
- Assist in the implementation of a student experience platform to participation in programs, activities, events, and organizations
- Monitor social media channels and offer response strategies
- Manage marketing strategy and materials for divisional initiatives and events including Homecoming, Ramboree, and Welcome Week
- Collect and analyze user activity data from digital platforms to ensure that key messages reach relevant audience
- Assist in the development a comprehensive SPX calendar
- Manage the Ram Fam Central platform
- Manage the CampusESP partnership contract
- Manage operational budget
- Strategically allocate funds to programming and communication channels
- Create and implement a strategic plan and communication protocols for family engagement
- Stay up to date on social media and marketing trends
- Serve as a liaison to the Office of Communications
- Serve on divisional and university committees to help to advance strategic priorities related to student connection, belonging, and engagement through marketing
- Advise Ram Fam Advisory Council
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling Education, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
- Three years of professional work experience in higher education, Student Affairs, or communications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strategic marketing experience
- Communication platform management experience
- Experience with event-based marketing
- Social media platform management experience
- Budget and resource management experience
- Family engagement programming experience
- Experience leading Advisory Boards
