Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time Accommodation Integration Specialist for the Student Accessibility Success Initiative (SASI) within the Office of Accessibility Services. This position supports a key institutional initiative focused on strengthening student success and improving campus-wide understanding and implementation of academic accommodations. The Integration Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring that students with disabilities receive coordinated, effective support, while also partnering with faculty, tutors, and academic support centers to integrate accommodations seamlessly into the learning environment. We seek applicants who are passionate about accessibility, committed to student success, and skilled in building collaborative relationships that promote inclusive teaching practices and help address accommodation-related challenges as they arise.

This is a temporary appointment for a grant-funded position and is subject to renewal on an annual basis.

The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) at Central Connecticut State University is committed to providing an accessible campus environment for all students. The office works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to implement reasonable modifications to programs, services, and facilities. Position Profile

The successful candidate will support the Office of Accessibility Services in advancing university-wide efforts to promote access, equity, and inclusion for students with disabilities through the work of the Program Coordinator and other members of the Integration Specialist team. The Integration Specialist ensures academic accommodations are clearly understood and effectively implemented in collaboration with faculty, while providing direct guidance to students and coordinating daily processes that support differentiated instruction and accessible learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to problem-solve in complex situations, and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments. They will maintain accurate records, support data collection and reporting, and serve as a resource to faculty offering consultation and support that promotes equitable and effective accommodation use across the university community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of and ability to apply federal and state laws and regulations, including ADA and Section 504, as well as university and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures. Knowledge of best practices in disability services, academic accommodations, and differentiated instruction. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty to support the implementation of accommodations and address related challenges. Ability to collect, analyze, and prepare data related to accommodation use and student progress. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage daily operational tasks, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Experience and Training:

  • Three (3) years of experience working with and/or providing services and supports students with disabilities in an educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating with faculty, tutors, or academic support services on accommodation implementation and accessibility practices.

Comparable experience and credentials may also be considered.

Graduate Assistant or Graduate Intern experience in relevant educational or community-based programs may be applied toward required experience and prorated appropriately.

Compensation and Employee Benefits:

The Accommodation Integration Specialist (grant funded) is compensated at the Administrator II salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
