Job Description
Classification Title: Compliance Analyst II
Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Case Management and Accommodation Coordination:
This position will be responsible for case management and accommodation coordination for employees. This includes serving as the primary contact for employees requesting ADA accommodations, facilitating the interactive process, which includes reviewing documentation, conducting information sessions and department meetings and drafting accommodation plans. In addition, the Case Manager acts as a liaison between employees, their supervisors, human resources, ADA/504 Coordinator and university general counsel to ensure that accommodation plans are consistent with institutional policies and legal requirements. This area of responsibility also involves evaluating requests, recommending reasonable accommodations, monitoring their implementation, and maintaining accurate electronic records of each case.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate data management, reporting, and assessment. The Case Manager generates reports on accommodation requests, case outcomes, and institutional compliance to share with senior leadership. Analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute data for compliance audits and strategic planning. This responsibility includes maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in database management, ensuring that case data is consistently updated and accessible for authorized review. This includes accurately document the full course of the interactive process, including requests, discussions, and determinations, and provide clear written communication of the outcome to the individuals involved, ensuring that all parties understand the accommodation decisions, their implementation responsibilities, and avenues for follow-up or appeal. Assist the ADA/504 Coordinator to identify trends, manage data, and compile reports for the UF community as needed.
Accommodation Documentation and Communication:
Accurately document the full course of the interactive process, including requests, discussions, and determinations, and provide clear written communication of the outcome to the individuals involved, ensuring that all parties understand the accommodation decisions, their implementation responsibilities, and avenues for follow-up or appeal. Responsible for reviewing and coordinating responses to Accessibility Concern forms submitted by the UF Community.
Procedures and Materials Alignment with Legal Updates:
Review and develop operational information and forms as laws and regulations change while communicating these updates to all constituents. Regularly review and update operational materials, forms, and procedural documents to ensure alignment with evolving federal and state disability laws and regulations, and clearly communicate these revisions to all campus constituents to promote consistent understanding and compliance.
Cross-Campus Collaboration and Policy Expertise:
Collaborate with UF partners such as UF Departments, UFHR, the DRC, Central Leave, TAPS, EH&S and other departments. Maintain knowledge in various policies associated with ADA, including but not limited to, leave policies, HR policies, and CDC guidelines.
Expected Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a correlated area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Master's degree preferred
- Interest in and commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
- A strong knowledge of ADA, related laws is essential, along with excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience in case management or service coordination.
- Experience in ADA case management, disability services, or compliance in higher education or a comparable setting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
